Do you charge hourly or fixed project fees?
I typically work on a fixed-fee basis for projects with a clearly defined scope, so you know exactly what the investment will be upfront. For ad-hoc maintenance or ongoing support, I offer flexible retainer packages or hourly billing.
How long does a typical website project take?
Most standard brochure websites take between 2 to 3 weeks from start to finish, depending on the complexity of the design and how quickly content is provided. Larger, more complex projects or custom applications will vary.
Can you help with SEO and performance?
Absolutely. Performance and technical SEO are built into my process, not added as an afterthought. I ensure every site I build is fast, accessible, and follows Google's best practices to give you the best start in search rankings.
Do you provide hosting and domain names?
I don't sell hosting directly, but I can recommend excellent providers and handle the entire setup and configuration process for you. This ensures you own your accounts and have full control over your digital assets.
Where are you based, and do you work with clients remotely?
I'm based in the UK and work with clients remotely across the country and internationally. Everything is handled online — calls, briefs, reviews and handovers — so location is rarely a barrier. If you're looking for a UK-based freelance web designer or developer, I'm well placed to help.
Can you redesign or improve my existing website?
Yes — redesigns and iterative improvements are a large part of what I do. Whether you need a full visual overhaul, a performance audit, or targeted improvements to specific pages, I can assess what you have and work out the best path forward, without starting from scratch unnecessarily.
Will I be able to manage and update the website myself after it's built?
Yes. Where possible, I build on platforms like WordPress that give you full control over your content without needing developer input for day-to-day updates. I also offer training and documentation so you feel confident managing your own site from day one.
Do you offer ongoing maintenance and support after launch?
Yes — I offer ongoing maintenance and support retainers for sites I've built as well as inherited projects. This covers security and plugin updates, content changes, performance monitoring and emergency fixes, giving you peace of mind that your site is in safe hands.
