TMS Dorset
A bespoke WordPress build for a private TMS clinic provided by Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust, built to WCAG AA accessibility standards with a focus on clarity, trust and ease of management.
The Brief
TMS Dorset is located within the beautiful grounds of St Ann's Hospital in the highly sought-after area of Sandbanks, with direct access to the beach and a tranquil environment for its clients. It is a private service run by NHS Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust, and the site needed to reflect both the quality of the setting and the credibility that comes with that backing.
The brief was clear: accessible, lightweight, straightforward to use and easy for the team to keep up to date themselves. Clear signposting for patient referrals and contact routes was a priority from the outset.

The Build
Working from the supplied wireframes, I designed and built the site as a bespoke WordPress theme using Advanced Custom Fields, keeping the backend simple and structured so the clinic team can manage their content independently. No bloat, no page builder, just a clean and purposeful build tailored to what the site actually needs.
Accessibility was a core requirement throughout — the site was built to meet WCAG AA compliance, covering contrast ratios, keyboard navigation, focus management, semantic markup and screen reader support.

Bespoke ACF Admin Interface — A tailored backend using Advanced Custom Fields means the clinic team can manage and update content themselves, without relying on developer support for day-to-day changes.
Lightweight and Fast — No page builder, no unnecessary overhead. The site is clean and focused, keeping load times low without compromising on design or functionality.
The Result
The finished site gives TMS Dorset a clear, credible and accessible platform that reflects both the quality of the clinical environment and the NHS trust behind it. Referral routes are straightforward, content is easy to find, and the team can keep things up to date without needing to come back through development for routine changes.
