The Brief
Doug James Berwick is a film composer working primarily in psychological drama and horror, drawn to stories that explore inner lives, emotional tension and transformation. His work needed a web presence that matched the atmosphere of his craft — something immersive, considered and led by the music itself.
The brief called for a single-page site that could showcase Doug's work compellingly, with audio central to the experience. It also needed to be easy for Doug to manage independently, without requiring technical knowledge to keep his portfolio up to date.

The Build
I designed and built the site as a bespoke WordPress theme with a custom ACF admin interface, giving Doug a straightforward way to manage his bio, credits and playlist content without touching any code. The layout is a single scrollable page, keeping everything focused and the visitor journey clean.
The centrepiece of the build is a custom sitewide music player, developed from scratch to persist across all sections of the page. It includes audio visualisation and full playlist support, so Doug's compositions are always present as the visitor explores his work — exactly the kind of experience the subject matter demands.
