WordPress Maintenance & Support

Someone to look after your WordPress site properly. Updates, backups, security, speed and priority support from a UK freelancer you can actually talk to.

Need urgent help?

WordPress maintenance plans from £75/month

Most WordPress problems are preventable. The update that breaks your checkout, the plugin with a known vulnerability, the backup that was never actually set up. These are things that shouldn't catch you off guard.

I take care of the behind-the-scenes work that keeps WordPress sites running smoothly: updates tested before they go live, daily backups you can actually restore from, security monitoring, performance checks and a real person to call on when you need something.

You deal directly with me, not a support desk or a junior developer. Not an automated system that clicks "update all" and hopes for the best.

Plans from £75/month

Affordable monthly plans tailored to your site. A simple business site pays less than a busy WooCommerce store.

No lock-in contracts

Cancel any time with 30 days' notice. I'd rather keep you because the service is good, not because of a contract.

Priority response

Maintenance clients jump the queue. When something needs attention, I'm on it quickly.

15+ years WordPress experience

I've maintained everything from five-page brochure sites to high-traffic WooCommerce stores. I know what goes wrong and how to stop it.
WordPress Superhero

What's included in every plan 🛡️

The essentials that keep a WordPress site healthy, secure and fast. All handled consistently every month so you don't have to think about it.

Core, Theme & Plugin Updates

Every update is tested in a staging environment before it goes anywhere near your live site. No blind clicking, no crossed fingers, no broken layouts on a Monday morning.

Security Monitoring

Malware scanning, vulnerability alerts and firewall configuration running in the background. If something flags up, I deal with it before it becomes a real problem.

Off-site Backups

Your site is backed up regularly to a separate location. If anything goes wrong, I can restore it quickly. No crossing your fingers that your hosting provider kept a copy.

Uptime Monitoring

Your site is checked around the clock. If it goes down, I get an alert straight away and can usually jump on it before your visitors (or your boss) notice.

Monthly Performance Checks

Speed audits and Core Web Vitals tracking so your site stays fast over time, not just on launch day. If something starts dragging, I'll catch it early and sort it out.

Priority Support

Need a text change, a bug fixed or just have a question? Message me directly. No ticket queues, no waiting in line. Maintenance clients always come first.

Freelance WordPress Developer

Experienced WordPress maintenance from a real developer

I'm Adam, a freelance WordPress developer based in the UK with over 15 years of hands-on experience. When you need something updated, fixed or just want to ask a question, you're talking directly to the person who does the work.

Most managed WordPress services run on auto-pilot. They batch-apply updates, send you a templated report and call it a day. I actually look at your site, test things properly and tell you honestly if something needs attention or if you can leave it alone. I also offer WordPress development, SEO and performance work and emergency support if something goes wrong.

How it works

Simple to get started, easy to cancel, and I do the heavy lifting from day one.

Site audit

I start by going through your site properly: security, performance, plugin health, hosting setup, backups. I'll flag anything that needs attention and set up staging so updates can be tested safely going forward.

Monthly maintenance

Updates, security patches and backups applied consistently every month. Everything is tested in staging before it touches your live site. If an update causes a problem, I catch it before your visitors do.

Ongoing monitoring

Uptime, performance and security monitoring runs in the background around the clock. When something flags up, I deal with it proactively, usually before you even notice.

Monthly report

A clear summary of what was done, any issues found and honest recommendations for anything worth improving. Short, useful and written in plain English. No filler.

Frequently asked questions

How much does WordPress maintenance cost?

Plans start from £75/month. The exact price depends on your site: a straightforward business site costs less than a WooCommerce store with thousands of products. Get in touch and I'll put together a quote based on what your site actually needs.

What happens if my site gets hacked or breaks while I'm on a plan?

That's exactly what the plan is for. Emergency fixes and hack recovery are included as part of your priority support. I'll jump on it quickly, and you won't be charged extra for the rescue work. If you're not on a plan yet, I also offer one-off emergency WordPress support.

Do you just click "update all" every month?

No, and that's a big part of why this service exists. Every update is tested in a staging copy of your site first, and I check for compatibility issues before anything goes live. Blind updates are one of the most common reasons WordPress sites break.

Am I locked into a long contract?

No. You can cancel with 30 days' notice, no penalties and no awkward conversations. I'd rather keep you because the service is genuinely useful, not because you're stuck in a contract.

Can you make small changes to my site as part of the plan?

Yes. Small content updates, text changes, image swaps and minor tweaks are all covered under your priority support. For bigger changes or new features, I'll quote those separately so you know the cost upfront.

I already have a hosting provider that does updates. Why would I need this?

Most hosting providers offer auto-updates, but they don't test anything first. They update your plugins, something breaks, and then it's your problem. I test updates in staging, monitor the results, and actually fix things when they go wrong. There's also a lot that hosting providers don't cover: security hardening, performance optimisation, content changes and someone to call when you need help.

Do you maintain WooCommerce stores?

Yes, and WooCommerce sites benefit from maintenance more than most because a broken update can mean lost sales. I pay extra attention to checkout flows, payment gateways and order processing when running updates on WooCommerce stores.

What do I get in the monthly report?

A clear summary of everything that was done that month: updates applied, any security issues found, uptime and performance stats, and honest recommendations if there's anything worth improving. It's written in plain English, not padded out with jargon to look impressive.
